In the 3rd edition of Dungeons and Dragons Wizards of the Coast is trying to bring DND
back to its table top roots as evident by the diagrams in the core books and the Adventure game.
So why not take it one step further. Companies like Dwarven Forge
have answered this call in grand style but there is one problem, price. Lets face it there stuff is wonderful
but at about $80 a set they aren't cheap. Well I set out to try to build something similar and made my own
out of paper. They turned out pretty well and my players seemed to like them so I figured I would pass them on.
I they are all in the 5 foot to the inch scale and in the first set I have included the basic pieces to build
most dungeons and building interiors. I will be adding more items as I need them so stay tuned for updates.
3D World Starter Kit
This is the complete group of files for all the basic walls, floors and doors to make most simple rooms.
All items are to the 5 foot to the inch scale for both horizontal and vertical directions. For example if the
piece is 1/2 and inch tall its scale height is 2.5 feet high. I chose to do it this way to make it easier to
tell how much cover a medium size character gets when standing behind various objects. The pieces are assembled
in 3 formats: 3d box, A-frame stand up and flat. Print them out on light weight card stock and make sure to
score all the fold lines so you can get crisp edges. I tested the size on a HP laser printer and they printed
correctly just make sure you don't adjust the print scale
